How to Block Companies From Tracking You Online
On April 24, President Joe Biden signed a bill that could see TikTok banned in the United States if it does not divest its American operations to a U.
One of the major manifestations of my ADHD is my absolute inability to keep track of items in my house. I've lived in the same house for 14 years, so one would think I would have a system for where to put my keys and other essentials, but instead I am constantly searching for them. To compensate, I rely heavily on the chirping sound of the Tile tracker I've attached, which leads me right to them. The same is true for my wallet, which has a Tile tracker and even my remote control, which has a little Tile sticker on it.
The Tile trackers come in many forms, and a bunch of them are on sale during Black Friday. If you, like me, need a little extra help keeping track of your things, this sale is a good time to stock up.
Tile trackers come in a few forms, designed for different types of object, and they all pair to a phone app. Using Bluetooth, you can locate your items geographically, but you can also have the tracker play a chime so you can follow the noise.
That said, Tiles aren't perfect. Some of the models don't have replaceable batteries, like the stickers. Instead, you have to replace the whole sticker. Occasionally, it takes a moment for the app to connect to a Tile, so if you're panicky, it can be frustrating. That said, if you give it a minute, it always seems to come through. Tile works for both Android and iPhone, and these Tiles in particular can be added to Life360, a family app that lets you alert others if you're in danger. The Bluetooth has a 350-ft range, and a 3-year battery life.
The Slim works for wallets, books and passports. The Key finder is a dongle, so it works with anything that the Tile can hang from, like key rings, necklaces, and bags. The Sticker is great because it's tiny and will stick to anything. I've got one on my earbud container, remotes, and whatever book I'm currently reading.
Another unexpectedly useful feature is that if you can't find your phone, you can press your Tile and it will make your phone chime. That was a lifesaver when I lost my phone in a Home Depot.
