If you've had your eye on Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses (no pun intended), then now's the perfect time to pick them up. Amazon has the glasses discounted for Black Friday by up to 20% off. In addition, you'll get a $90 digital credit for your next Amazon purchase. Just use the code WAYFARER90 when checking out.
As the name implies, these glasses are smart. They come with a built-in 12MP camera that can shoot both photos and videos, which can be shared to platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and more. The camera can also be used for video calls on WhatsApp and Messenger, but you can use the glasses for traditionally phone calls as well. In addition, the open-ear speakers let you listen to music from streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Battery life is up to four hours on a single charge, and 36 hours with the charging case.
The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are integrated with Meta AI, the company's AI assistant. You can ask Meta AI general questions (e.g. "What's the weather?" or "When does Target open?") or ask its help for identifying items, such as a specific flower you've come across. It can even translate text into multiple languages: If you're traveling, and want to know what a sign says, or you're having trouble interpreting a menu, you can ask Meta AI to translate for you. As Lifehacker's Stephen Johnson said his review, "With their retro design, practical AI capabilities, and hands-free operation, Ray-Ban Metas are the kind of glasses Q would have given to James Bond."
The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are available in a number of colors, including Shiny Black, Shiny Caramel, Matte Jeans Transparent, Matte Black, and Warm Stone. The price does vary depending on which color you choose. The glasses also come in two sizes: Regular and Large.
