Chromebooks are already quite cheap compared to Windows laptops, but you can usually sweeten the deal even more during sales, like Amazon's October Prime Day. Here you'll find a solid 10 to 20% discount on popular Chromebooks, and, given how cheap Chromebooks already are, it's quite a savings. While there aren't a huge selection of deals this Prime Day, these are my six favorite Chromebook discounts I've found so far:
The Asus C424 is down to just $200, from $250. With it, you'll get a 14-inch display, dual-core Celeron Processor, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 128GB storage. Not bad for $200.
HP Chromebook 14 is HP's budget Chromebook, and is also available for $199 this Prime Day. The highlight is that you get Intel's new N100 chip, but you also get 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage in a light package. Not to mention, this thing looks sophisticated. For just under $200, that's not a bad deal.
Chromebook Plus is Google's attempt to integrate Gemini AI with Chromebooks. With Asus' attempt, the Chromebook Plus CX34, you get a 14-inch Full HD screen, Intel Core i3 CPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. You also get exclusive Google AI features like Magic Eraser, as well as noise cancelation and lighting correction for video calls—features usually found in top of the line Pixel devices. This Chromebook is down from $440 to $409.
Lenovo's IdeaPad 3i is a great, full-sized laptop. It comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display, an Intel Celeron N4500 CPU, 8GB RAM, and 64GB storage. It's a great choice for someone who wants a larger screen but doesn't want to compromise on its quality.
Yes, there is such a thing as a gaming Chromebook—they're just for cloud gaming. The Acer Chromebook 516 GE comes with a 16.0-inch 2560 x 1600 120 Hz IPS display, as well as an Intel Core i5 CPU, 16GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD. That's powerful enough to support cloud gaming apps, and it is especially customized for NVIDIA GeForce NOW. This Chromebook usually sells for $599, but it's now down to $509.
Acer's Spin series is known for it's revolving display, and portability. If you're okay spending over $300, you'll get a machine with a Ryzen 3 CPU that's much better than Intel Celeron models. Some might be disappointed that it comes with a 14-inch Full HD display, rather than a 15.6-inch. It does come with a backlit keyboard, a 64GB SSD, and a sleeve and mouse to go along with it. The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 is down from $349 to $313.
