Since August, the iPad Mini and the ninth-generation iPad have periodically dropped in price after getting significant discounts since their release. However, the ninth-generation iPad dropped to a new, record-low price in mid-August. The iPad from 2021 was considered the best tablet of that year, and it's now down to its lowest price after a $130 discount. You can get the 64GB wifi-only iPad for $199 (originally $329) from Amazon or Target, matching the lowest price it has been, according to price-checking tools.
The ninth-generation iPad was considered the best iPad for most people by PCMag and received its Editors' Choice award in an "excellent" review. While it is three years old, it's not yet on the list of Apple products no longer getting software updates, so you'll likely still get a few more years of software updates. Back in 2021, it was Apple’s most affordable tablet. And it still is.
The tablet weighs 1.1 pounds and its 10.2-inch screen has a sharp 2,160 by 1,620 pixel resolution. It runs the Apple A13 Bionic chip, which is the same one the second-generation iPhone SE uses. The battery life gives you around five to six hours of juice depending on your usage. The 12MP front-facing camera is ultra-wide with a 122-degree field of view, and the rear camera is 8MP.
The cellular version is also $130 off. If you want to have access to the internet no matter where you go, the extra $130 might be worth it.
The ninth-generation model isn't the only iPad currently discounted. Check out these other iPads also available:
